READY4DISasters aims to produce necessary digital tools to support citizens and volunteers in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competencies in preparation against fires, floods, and landslides.
 
Our objectives

* Contributing the goal "being constantly prepared for disasters and emergencies by increasing social awareness
* Strengthening volunteer networks in Europe for disasters
* Raising awareness of citizens in order to involve in volunteering and training of them
* Motivating local citizens and raising awareness for volunteers through training procedures
* Developing innovative training modules and OER platform regarding three different disaster type for the target groups
* Creating digital games for three types of disasters covered in this project, for using as a tool for self-assessment and checking the competences of the volunteers
* Developing social competences for volunteers
* Understanding other countries' approaches to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery in the fields of flood, landslide and fire.
* Networking on regional and local level, in line with EU strategic policies
* Sharing good practices disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery
* To present methodologies to measure resilience of communities for disasters

Project Description

READY4DISasters project aims to develop resilient communities through awareness and preparedness against the risks of fire, flood, and landslide. To achieve this objective, diverse groups in the society should be included in the efforts and their competency should be developed. This is possible promoting new learning and training opportunities concerning this issue among the volunteer citizens. READY4DISasters project will provide necessary digital tools, including digital games along with education and training materials to support volunteers in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competencies in preparation against disasters. Via the products developed in this project, volunteers will be able to get ready and connect with all aspects of disaster management starting from mitigation to preparedness, response, and recovery.

* An OER platform and training modules for adult learners in four different languages
* Interactive Mobile App and Game, as the digital trainer, that will give the volunteers and trainers innovative knowledge and help volunteers to improve the practical skills of prevention and preparedness
